The idea for this event came from the belief that even though our bodies are fragile and our time on this earth is limited, we are not truly gone until we have passed from the memories of those we leave behind.

The best way to keep our friends in the forefront of our minds is through wordfame. Stories, songs, sharing something they taught us, or simply just listening to the stories told round the fire. All these stories serve to refresh our memories or create new ones. In our minds, that keeps them alive in some small way.

We struggled with the theme of this event because we did not want it to turn dark and depressing, quite the opposite, our hope for the day is that we celebrate the lives of those that have gone before us. To that end, We are compiling a memory board containing photos of our fallen friends which will be displayed in the main hall. If you want us to include someone, email our autocrat for the event, Baron Aengus MacBain, who can be reached via email at siraengus (at) zoominternet.net

It is our hope that wordfame will be spread thru story and song, on the lysts as we remember the archers, fencers & fighters, and tell the “No sh#t there we were…” stories.

Activities for the day include bardic opportunities throughout the day, a double elimination heavy tournament followed by by a bear pit run by Sir Rouland , a fencing tournament run by Master Corwin and target archery run by Master Juan Miguel. As this is a Royal progress event, Their Majesties will hold court at Their leisure.

If there is anything our Shire can do please reach out and let us know!
